Luckily, my hungry bullfrog was with me, and was more than willing to destroy the evidence.
I informed them of what food I did not eat, so they would not ASSume I was playing their silly game.
I marked my refusal on the food list on the card.
The dietician was "surprised" I was NEVER asked what I wanted to eat. YEAH, RIGHT!
At the hospital I stayed at overnight after my septoplasty, they had an ala carte system that let me order what I wanted off of a menu which I really liked. Now I am not sure how things would have worked if I had a specific diet restriction since many doctors seem to be clueless about diabetic diets but if your doctor is on board with the way you eat, then this hospital's system would have been worked out great for you.
Sorry you had to go through all the hassle after dealing with surgery that you dealt with. I don't understand why hospitals aren't up to date with diabetic diets and give way too many carbohydrates.
