Fisher and Paykel Icon+ Not working on battery
Fisher and Paykel Icon+ Not working on battery
I have been using a deep cycle and battery with an inverter for years. All of a sudden it stopped working. I changed the batter and even bought a new inverter. I have plugged it into a friends system. It still wont light up on inverter power? Anyone have any help! I'm leaving tomorrow night for camp. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried turning the humidifier off?

Are the batteries fully charged?prepchef wrote:I have been using a deep cycle and battery with an inverter for years. All of a sudden it stopped working. Do you have a volt meter so you can take some measurements?
Re: Fisher and Paykel Icon+ Not working on battery
Yes, I have put it in Econ mode and nothing. I also have a brand new deep cycle battery. No luck.
I'm frustrated, because it has worked for years. All of a sudden when I went camping this year, it wouldn't work.

I talked with F&P today. They say that they recommend a pure sine wave inverter. Ugh. But what I don't understand is that my machine HAS worked with a modified sine wave inverter in the past! And unfortunately, no one carries a pure sine wave inverter in stock, they all have to be ordered.

A brand new and fully charged are two different batteries.prepchef wrote:Yes, I have put it in Econ mode and nothing. I also have a brand new deep cycle battery. No luck.

I guess you don't have a volt meter either.
Re: Fisher and Paykel Icon+ Not working on battery
I would only use a pure sine wave inverter!
Modified sine wave can damage the humdifier as the power regulating circuit requires a senusiodal (pure) waveform.
Anyway today the price difference is small so get a 500watt pure sine wave then you can run the humdifier, you just need some decent battery's.
Happy camping
