Sleepyhead and Respironics Bluetooth Adaptor/AHI Jump

Post by Catlizg » Wed Jul 02, 2014 10:22 am

My DME changed my Respironics from a 460 CPAP with regular humidifier to an APAP 560 with heated humidifier tubing yesterday. For 2-1/2 months on the 460, my AHI averaged 1.5 per hour with the highest being one really bad, allergy driven night showing as 3.2. Since I'm on a straight CPAP pressure of 6 with my sleep study revealing an AHI of 33, I was happy with the simple data

Until last night. This morning the new 560 display showed an AHI of 28/hr. So, I decided the time had come to have greater detail on my nightly readings. Normally, I use an Ipad (no SIM card reader) so took out my trusty laptop, installed Sleepyhead and took my SIM card out of the Respironics so I could transfer the data. No SIM card reader on my laptop!

Plan B - get the Bluetooth adaptor for my Respironics. But, will Sleepyhead be able to read the data via Bluetooth?

I did call the DME to question why the sudden jump and the therapist was honest and said he had no idea. He asked me to track my readings over the weekend and we will talk on the 7th. If need be, we are going to do a 3-way phone conference with Philips. Fortunately, I've got a great DME, but with my husband getting ready to start on a Bipap-ASV machine with multiple sleep issues I'd like to be able to review our data on a more regular basis.

Any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance.

The SD card is easy, here is 1 that has gotten great reviews, Just plug it into your USB port and youve got data.. http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Flash-M ... B001NS0OZ4

As for the rise in AHI, from what I understand, the APAP (auto) machines have better ways of "sensing" your apneas than a CPAP machine

Sleapyhead does not do bluetooth and the bluetooth module and application has gotten very bad reviews....
