Allergy Humidifier Settings

Post by RichIam » Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:44 am

Now that allergy and humidity seasons are back what humidifier/heated tube settings seem to work best for everyone? Should I even use the heated tube in the spring/summer?

I think it would be impossible to guess at this because everyone's climate conditions are different, everyone's comfort level is different, and the humidifier and hose are definitely there for personal comfort (and not therapy at all). I use my humidifier only for a very few wks in winter (near the ocean and get lots of precip.), but someone in Ariz. may want it year round.

If you feel you need the hose even in summer it's up to you to set your machine for it, but I would think it unlikely that you'd want it... but it's so up to you.

I prefer to pretty much keep the humidity delivery the same year round and let the machine do its job with whatever ambient humidity I might have at any given time.

I do prefer to decrease the heated hose temp in the warmer months and I will increase it in the winter months but the overall humidity delivered is going to remain the same. I don't vary humidity delivered. My nose doesn't like to get dried out and thus I try to keep it happy with same humidity all the time whenever I can.
