After a night of cpap the area directly under by nose is very dry and skin is peeling. What causes this and how do you prevent it?

You didn't list any of your equipment (specifically the mask), so my guess would be that you're wearing a nasal mask.

Suggestion: Get a full face mask.

Silicone rubbing on the skin causing it maybe??
Get some Lansinoh lanolin ointment and apply a little to the affected area.
