Now that I am sleeping - hubby cannot! He says it is too quiet and he tosses and turns worrying!

He will. I just thought it was interesting that he is so used to hearing me snore and stop breathing that now that I am quiet all night, he worries that I'm not making noise. We will adjust. So far the hardest part of this process has been waiting on the prescription! I am stoked that it is going so well!

My wife was much the same. My first machine was louder, and she took comfort in being able to hear me breathe whenever she woke up. After I got a quieter machine, she found it frustrating at first that she couldn't hear me. So whenever she woke up in the night, she would briefly put her hand in front of my face to feel the air venting from the mask. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the machine would probably keep running even if . . . well, never mind.

My daughter, coming home from a party at 3am, rush into my bed room and shook me awake yelling "Mama mama are you alright?!?!!!". My bedroom was near the front door and my door is always open for the cat to enter so when she didn't hear me doing my "mama bear" imitation she panicked.

A friend of mine told me she was having trouble sleeping since her CPAP using husband left her. I expressed that I was surprised she missed him. She laughed and told me no, that wasn't it. The problem was that she missed the sounds from his machine at night.

That is amusing. Hope it gets better soon though. Best wishes.

We had the opposite happen. I've been starting to sleep better, and so is my husband. And he didn't think he was sleeping bad to begin with. I imagine that is pretty typical though. We seem to get in a cycle of me waking him up, then he moves and wakes me up. He was so worried about CPAP noise and such when I started and saying he didn't get why I needed it, and now, no complaints from him at all. Awesome.

We had the same problem in our house. My daughter was so use to me snoring that she could hear me down the hall. Once I started using CPAP and the snoring stop she would check on me through out the night for about two or three weeks till she got use to the quiet. Funny what we get use to.
