ResMed CPAP S6 Elite for Sale

Post by Abraxas » Thu May 29, 2014 1:07 pm

I simply picked this machine up at a sale and am looking to sell it, so I am a new user here. This machine is in very good condition. Tested it an it runs great. Comes with machine, power cord, installed clean filter and 2 brand new packaged filters. Does not include mask or tube to mask.
Asking $45 (not $170). Paypal is accepted and preferred, credit card is accepted, personal check is accepted, all forms of payment are accepted. Will ship USPS.
Any questions are welcome, please send me a PM.

A bit steep for a used, discontinued, three-generation old brick, no?

If you got it free at a garage sale it was an okay deal, otherwise you got burned. I'd call it definitely a 'donater' to a super down and out poor person. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

If you paid to ship it someone might give you $5 for it.

What there telling you is this machine is worth nothing. Best you could do is donate it to someone you is down and out like they said, it's better than nothing.

I think he means that it's not an APAP. The S6's pressure setting can be changed. But it's still an antique.

I think that the pressure change requires a manometer and isn't so easy as the later model machines.
The S7 series was easy to change...I am thinking S6 wasn't so easy and required a manometer but I don't have the official manual for that model to verify.

Either way...way old machine and not worth the shipping cost IMHO.

Heck, if I was wanting a machine...notacpapuser has a low hour latest model PR S1 560 with all the accessories for $160 I think it was. Don't hold me to that price but it was close.

To OP...you are unlikely to find a buyer here for your machine at any price.
There have been subsequent S7, S8 and now S9 models from ResMed and the S6 Elite was nothing special anyway back in its glory days. Not sure of exact age of the S6 but I suspect around at least 10 to 15 years old or thereabouts.

I saw that low hour latest model S1 560 for $160, so I jumped on that deal Wednesday night.
I got a tracking number for it yesterday.
Can't beat getting a spare machine with full data for $160.

Did you not read the posts? A discontinued 3 generation machine is not worth anything.

I had an S6 Elite for 10 years and it is an excellent machine.

It is built like a tank, noisy, and has absolutely no data; but you can easily set the pressure on it.

It would make an excellent donor machine to give to someone who cannot afford a CPAP machine.

Someone must have an offer for it. I can tell it is a quality medical machine and not cheaply made.

I don't think you're understanding: this is an ancient machine. It was first sold in 2000 and became obsolete in 2002 when the Resmed S7 was released. Since it was last inspected in 2005, it was probably purchased in 2001 and used for five years. It may have 10,000 hours or more on it.

Would you like to make me an offer for the PC I bought in 2000? It has a 600 MHz PIII processor, 512 MB RAM, and a 60 GB HDD. I'll even throw in an almost-full box of 3.5" floppy disks and a scratched Win98SE install CD.

I have a TRS80 sitting in the basement....... I could probably charge a lot for that antique.
