Good Day,
My name is Joe, I am 29 years old and have been on cpap/bipap therapy for about 4 years.
My current machine is a resperionics
My current mask is a quattro fx
My machine says my AHI is around 1.5 but i am not convinced that is accurate as I am always groggy.
Pressure 22/18
My issue is this, i have been using the quattro fx now for a couple of years, while trying so many other masks in the process. With the Quattro i have to wear a no-leak strap, to keep it from leaking, a pad-a-cheeks mask liner, and I also were a eye cover underneath because of the way i sleep the mask digs into my skin causing large painful sore on the bridge of my nose next to my eyes. What i would like is some advice for a new mask that can handle these high pressures that wouldn't require me to have all the extra stuff on my head and face and doesn't cause these sores. I have done reviews on line and don't find that they have been to incredibly helpful, so was hoping people on here with higher pressures really close or higher then mine could give me advice at what they use. I can't use a nasal mask i have tried, and it just fails miserably..
Please help!
I must also add, i currently don't have insurance so i have to buy the mask my self, so it will be a lot harder for me if that mask doesn't work out to return it.
Need a new high pressured mask.
Re: Need a new high pressured mask.
Are you limited to full face masks or are nasal and nasal/pillow masks an option?
Cpap.com has free return insurance for some masks. Others, you have to pay an additional fee for.
If you PM me, I can give you a vendor that provides superb customer service who offers an unconditional 30 day return on all their masks. You could either buy from the them or use that price to ask cpap.com to match which they are always willing to do.

Re: Need a new high pressured mask.
I have high pressure settings also, my settings are: 23/19. I use the Probasics Zzz-Mask full face. I like that there is no forehead support, and I like the way the headgear fits and I also like the price; it is much cheaper then the Resmed and other main brand masks If you shop around you can get it for about $70 or $80. The replacement cushions are only about $30.00.
I have had good luck with this mask and head gear.
I wish you good luck.

Re: Need a new high pressured mask.
A new mask on the market is the AirFit. The FFM is the F10, nasal version the N10 & the nasal pillow version the P10. This line of masks is lighter & supposedly easier on the face. If you are wearing a FFM is it because you mouth breathe or because of your high pressure? If its the pressure, you may be able to switch to a nasal pillow mask & I use the P10 I highly recommend it. My pressure goes up to 20 for some of the night. I was on a 19 straight CPAP for 12 years before going on an auto machine. I wore a very tight mask (the Sleepnet IQ not a Piliaro) before I found this forum & learned how to properly wear a mask -' not too tight'.
You can use a P10 at high pressure, we have several forum members now using this mask. If you need a FFM because of mouth breathing, my hubby is now using the F10 & loves it. His pressure is much lower than mine, but he has a very low leak line, showing this mask seals well for him.
To better help you, go to the User Control Panel & fill in your machine & humidifier names, along with your pressure, so it will appear in blue below your name. That helps us to help you best on future posts. This forum can help you, just post questions & the many wonderful folks here will help you, as they helped me.
Your pressure is high but many members here use pressures similar to yours. Mine is not as high as yours, but before finding this forum, I thought tight masks were something I had to live with. Not so! You can comply with your therapy & still be comfortable.
Welcome to the forum,
Jen
