SD card Cover on back of 560P

Post by Mykale » Mon May 12, 2014 10:12 am

Does anyone know of a location to order the small cover for the SD card access on the back of the Philips Respironics System One Auto 560P? I have already checked with online chat at CPAP.com and the said I would probably have to call Philips to get a parts distributor.

Should have come with your machine or has it been damaged some how?
Did the DME remove it to attach a modem and not put it back? If they did...tell them you want it back.

Yes the DME that setup the machine months ago did not leave the back plate when they installed the modem. Every time I want to get SD card data I have had to unplug the machine, remove modem, access SD card, reinstall modem, and replug the power. A pain to say the least. The only reason I have not just set aside the modem is the large open area the machine has without the SD card cover. I would not want to run the machine for long periods of time with that much area exposed to allow dust, lint etc into the machine.

I have had my final visit months ago with the sleep Doc and am sure they are not using the modem anymore. I took your advice and called the DME and they are going to mail me the back plate with a return label for me to ship back the modem. I wonder how long I would have kept the modem if I had not called? I will have to rethink DME choices when the time rolls around where insurance will allow ordering of replacement masks etc...

Welcome to DME Hell. They should have placed the back plate in the bag that the machine came with (assuming you got the travel bag) so that it wouldn't get lost.
There are some good DMEs but unfortunately there are a lot of not so good DMEs and they get the bulk of the press.
A lot of the good DMEs got out bid with the competitive bidding thing because of volume vs a small local mom and pop DME who probably doesn't see a lot of volume bulk business and actually has to rely on making a patient a real customer and thinking of the patient's needs above their own needs because they realize ultimately who helps keep their doors open.

I got lucky and got a good one after I fired the first one (Lin...Idon't...Care) and even my good one isn't perfect but for what I get or can get and the service...I won't be looking to change.
