Chin straps

Post by stopsnoring » Fri May 09, 2014 8:54 pm

I was given the ResMed AirFit P10 pillows today. I'm really excited to try it. I do sleep with my mouth open, which I'm really going to try to stop, but I also want to try a chin strap. Can any tone recommend one that isnt too cumbersome. I would also like to try one that opens around the chin. Thanks for the help.
Also I was just reading that there is a P10 for women. I wasn't given that one for some reason. Is there a big difference between the two?

It's pink and it has an extra-small pillow.

I am also interested in the answer to your question, as I'm looking to try out the P10 in place of my Quattro Air FF.

I have been using a Prana yoga headband (a snug flat piece of cotton/lycra about 3" wide) worn around my head and under my chin, and it works great!

I have been using the pap Cap. You can place the strap part across but below the chin. The ones that touch the chin give me a sore chin.

I use a puresome chin strap. It has a cut out to fit you chin into, and is very adjustable with lots of velcro. It's very inexpensive at about $15. It does tend to slip off the crown of your head, however, it does work for me. I also have trained myself to keep my tongue at the roof of my mouth. I've only been on CPAP for about 4 months. I think I may eventually be able to stop using the chin strap altogether.
