Encore Pro 2 - Abnormal Program Termination Workaround

I downloaded a copy of EP2 as directed by one of
the frequent posters on this forum.

When I tried to run it I got an error message:

<Runtime Error! Abnormal Program Termination>

I thought originally the download was corrupted.

Later, other programs (CCleaner updates) produced
more detailed error messages:

<Error writing temporary file>

Clearly, there's something wrong with my Win 7 64 bit
system.

I've googled these problems & tried to fix it using
the instructions for fixing a "corrupted user profile",
but this didn't work for me.

What did work was to put the EP2 download file into
a ZIP archive & just double click on it to run/install it.

The EP2 program decompressed & installed just fine.
(So did the CCleaner update too.)

Maybe one of the windows wizards will point me in the
right direction to fix my win 7/64 bit system once &
for all.
