Haven't been here for a while, things haven't been going well, but haven't been going bad either. But here's what is going on.
My PB Goodnight 420S died on Friday. I called my DME this morning, and told them that while I didn't get it from them, I'd rather deal with them. They called PB who told them that they would repair it for free even though it was out of warranty.
So the DME called the sleep doctor and asked for settings, they were going to give me a loaner CPAP until the new one came in. He reviewed my chart and told his nurse to get me in his office today at the latest.
Long story short, I was told freaked as he didn't tell me why until I came in, but he had decided that the CPAP wasn't doing the job and is putting all of his patients on AutoPAP as soon as possible.
He wants me on the new Respironics M Series but it isn't out in AutoPAP yet (like I have to tell you guys). He talked the DME into giving me a loaner Respironics BiPAP, auto with BiFlex unit until the new unit is available.
Of course, he's out of network, I'm not sure what the insurance is going to cover, but if I feel better and reserve some "possibile" blockage that the cardiologist found, it would be worth whatever it ends up costing.
The news is that I've met my deductable.
When is the Respironics M machine coming out? I've already been on the lonader machine for about an hour and already feel a bit better. If I can feel as good as I did when I first got CPAP, again, it will all be worth it.
And the DME has always been more than fair -- look at what they did today?
Did I luck out?

Kathleen!! Wow!! Lucky you! Try your best to keep the Respironics BiPAP Auto with Bi-flex even after the M series autopap comes out. Beg the doctor to let you keep it!! LOL!! If you can keep that one, you'll have an even more versatile, comfortable machine (imho) than just an autopap, even an autopap with C-Flex. Hang onto that BiPAP Auto, if you can!kathleen wrote:he [the doctor] had decided that the CPAP wasn't doing the job and is putting all of his patients on AutoPAP as soon as possible.
