Airfit and Nuance questions.
I have recently been trying some new pillow masks. The Airfit P10 and Nuance. They are comfortable and I'm not have trouble with leaks. I still prefer the Pilairo Q, with both of the others I feel as though both my inhale and especially exhale is somewhat restricted. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else have this type of issue? The only reason I'm interested in the airfit and nuance is the smaller area touching the face.

Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.
I don't know, but I have been playing with both those masks as well, and I have raised my pressure a step or two to get the same "effect" as I did with the full face masks. I don't know if that is my nose, or nasal pillows in general, or just these specific masks, or my imagination, but there was another thread about this with the Airfit so we may not be the only ones.
Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.
When I tried the Nuance, I felt it was a comfortable mask I could breathe through but all the headgear made me feel I was in the dungeon in the "Hostel" movie. I ripped it off after a couple of hours. The Airfit P10 is perfect for me although I did notice when I tried the ramp at 5.0 pressure it did not feel like enough air was coming through.....but I don't know if that's me or the mask......I just don't seem to need the ramp feature. I've hear the Pilario is a comfortable mask. I am also trying a friend's Swift FX. The pillows are comfy but the headgear slips and then the darn thing leaks. My AHI went up to 3.9 after being at less than 1.8 for a few days I don't think it works for me......don't understand why that buckle on the top loosens up the way it does!

I found a difference going from small to medium with the nuance and medium to large with the airfit. The holes are bigger and it feels "softer" and less jet like.
Having said that, I just switched back to the medium on the airfit and am finding the fit a bit more comfortable than the large.

I switched from the large to the medium on the Airfit - the large works but they push up more on my nostrils. Whereas the medium don't push upwards as much.paradoiley wrote:I found a difference going from small to medium with the nuance and medium to large with the airfit. Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.
How strange I must be. I love the AirFit and the Piliaro, but cannot get a seal with the Nuance. I just plain old dislike the Piliaro Q because of the added headgear. I also can't get a seal with the Swift FX, but love the Swift LT - an older mask than the FX.
Currently my favorite is the AirFit P10, I've been using 2-3 months now (maybe more, my sense of time is getting away from me). I'm still on my 1st set of pillows & the headgear is still loose (always has been), but seals perfectly.

Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.
hmm...I will trade you my Pilairo Q or my Nuance Pro for your Airfit P10.

Re: Airfit and Nuance questions.
My husband breathes far better with the Pilairo Q than he did with either the AirFit or the Nuance. For him, it was the shape of his nose and the angle/shape of the cushions. The AirFit and the Nuance were just shaped so differently than his nose that they pushed oddly and interfered with his breathing, whereas the Pilairo is shaped to settle right in where it's supposed to be. He's not 100% thrilled about the extra amount sitting on the face either, but for him it was a tradeoff to make for better breathing and less leaks.
