Hi Guys.
One of the main reasons I got a sleep study and CPAP originally was because my snoring was keeping everyone in the house awake. I've now had my CPAP exactly a year to the day; my AHI (according to sleepyhead is less than 1 almost every night and never goes above 3 anymore, so from an apnea perspective, I consider this to be a success. However, my wife tells me that my snoring is getting worse to the point where it's starting to keep everyone awake again, however many articles state that if a CPAP is doing its job properly, snoring should be minimal or non-existent due to the continuous pressure keeping the airways open.
Clearly these assertions are contrary to each other and both cannot be possible (either the CPAP is doing its job or its not?)
Can anyone shed light on this please?
Thanks
Tony.

Re: Snoring with CPAP
You have the wrong machine chosen in your equipment profile...you chose an older discontinued model and that link is broken and that's why you don't have any link showing for machine.
Let's get that corrected so people will know what you are using.
I just went back to one of your old posts...and saw the SH report.
So you have this machine.
PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP machine
and the humidifier would be
PR System One 60 Series Heated tube humidifier with heated tube
even if you do not have the optional heated tube.
So when you have time please correct your equipment profile.
Snores...your other report had snores on it...you have the software ....is it still showing snores?
If so it may be that you just need a little more pressure to prevent the snores better.
Snores are warning signs of an impending collapse of the airway. Your AHI is fine so the machine is preventing the snores from growing up to be a grown up apnea.
It may be that the snores are related to sleeping position or REM stage sleep where sometimes we just need a little more pressure than at other times.
Probably as little as 0.5 cm increase would greatly reduce the snores...would do a better job holding the airway open so it doesn't start to collapse a little which is what the snores means is happening.
