Oxygen

Would there be any harm in experimenting with my boyfriends oxygen to see if it improves my cpap results?

Lots!

If you aren't happy with how you're doing, if your mask's uncomfortable or leaky, if the machine doesn't feel set up properly, tell us about it and maybe we can help - plenty of very experienced and knowledgable people here, but don't fool around with 02 on your own!

I am dealing with a lot of stress right now . Maybe that is why I am so tired. My concerns with my sleepyhead results are largely RERA's and snoring. Last night my AHI was 1.49. My RDI was 6.25. Hypopnea .81, obstructive .58, RERA 4.86, vsnore 8.45. I am not having leak issues according to sleep mapper. Any thoughts?

Learning to eat well and move will are likely to help.

Just start with a salad and a walk. Start small work up.

Your AHI is fine but the other stuff...snores, RERAs being elevated indicate not quite optimal pressure.
It might also impact how you feel as when there are a lot of RERAs and snores that usually points to less than great sleep quality. I don't know how much they actually will impact how you feel because sometimes other things not related to sleep or sleep apnea will affect how we feel but since there is something on your reports that could stand a little improvement it sure wouldn't hurt to try to improve those numbers just in case it might help.

I agree. I want to improve the numbers. My doctor doesn't seem to recognize RERA's . Should I call my dr or dme? What would you suggest?

Your DME won't change the pressure without the doctor okaying the change. They are tied to the RX that the doctor wrote just like a pharmacist is tied to prescription med directions. They can't change anything without a doctor's okay.

Now just like the pharmacist doesn't come home with you and force you to take that pill 3 times a day instead of the 2 times a day you might want to do...there's no law that says you can't change it yourself.
If you feel comfortable doing that...then that's up to you. A lot of us here are comfortable doing that but if you aren't then don't do it just because I do it.

It's easy to do and a small change probably wouldn't even be noticed by anyone. The DME is going to target hours of use so they can get paid from your insurance company.

You can go here and request a copy of the clinical manual (which you should do even if you don't change anything) which explains how...directions for how to request a manual are down near the bottom of the page.
Be sure to use proper wording
Respironics PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP

Here's the short version with a video down near the bottom of the page
http://www.apneaboard.com/pr-system-one ... structions

You want to get that manual because it explains some features about your machine that I bet you didn't know about...your machine will do a short trial in auto adjusting mode.
