need help identifying a part (Swift FX Nano)

Post by the block » Tue Apr 01, 2014 7:20 am

I have the Swift FX Nano and have found it to be an annoyance to remove from the main hose when I pack up my CPAP machine when I travel. Often times the swivel piece disconnects from base which is mounted inside the end of the hose, so then I am left with a little knub of a piece to try and pull out of the hose.

I actually like the fact that it can snap/unsnap easily because it would make it more convenient, if only I had another swivel coupler to use with my travel hose. Then I could easily disconnect my mask from either hose, and plug it back in the other with little effort, without having to pull the entire thing out of either hose.

Can someone help me identify the part I need to order to make this happen? The best I can call it is a ResMed Swivel Coupler? I don't really know what else to call it, or what part number it is, or where to order it. Can anyone help? It is circled in red in the image below. Thanks

Interesting. I have tried to pull that part apart and never been able to. How are you getting it apart?

I have a bunch of spare connectors from old Swift FX nasal pillows masks that would fit at that end of the small hose. But the coupler on the FX nasal pillows does NOT swivel.

If you're interested in trying out one of my spare connectors, just pm me and I'll be happy to put it in the mail for you.

they sell a "short tube assembly" but I have not seen just the adapter sold by anyone yet.

To take it apart - I just pull...

Indeed the part is referred to as a swivel.

Here is a link to the manual.

http://www.resmed.com/uk/assets/documen ... r1_eng.pdf

Unfortunately, that part does not have a separate part number.
OTOH, the short tube, which includes the swivel, does.

Here is the reference:

C Short tube assembly

FX Nano 62236 (1) 62237 (10)
FX Nano for Her 62244 (1) 62245 (10)

Just did a little price checking and the lowest price I found is $54 for the short tube assembly which includes the swivel.
I found the same pricing problem when I looked for parts for my Oracle 2 mask - the part I wanted cost about 75% or the cost of a whole new mask. The pricing for parts just sucks!

It looks as if your best bet is to find someone who has a mask that is no longer useable and will send you the part.
Just "bump" your request occasionally.

Lots of luck!
