Humidifier Problem

Post by kona0197 » Sun Mar 30, 2014 3:23 pm

So I filled the humidifier with distilled water before I went to bed. Woke up this morning and the machine had used over half of the tank, and the machine was only set on 1 out of 5 for the humidifier. Is this normal?

Depends. What is your weather like? If it's very dry, your humidifier will use more water. Are you using a forced air furnace, making your house pretty dry? That too, will use more water.

Another thing that can happen is when you mouth breathe a lot, the humidifier tries to keep up and that can run the water level down pretty fast.

Finally, were you playing with your settings at all? PR's have two modes--default and "classic". Classic mode heats the water more, and the humidifier uses a lot more on classic mode than regular mode. If you are using classic mode, in the provider menu when you check the humidifier settings, you'll see a "C" before the number, i.e. "C1" or "C-5".

Bottom line, be sure to check your levels every day so your humidifier doesn't run dry.

What is your weather like?
It's Oregon. Rains a lot. In the 50s and 60 for temperature.

Nope. I keep my room as cold as I can get it, anything that is warm gives me a slipping headache.

I'm mostly a nose breather. Sometime I snore, but not much.

Nope. The menu says the humidifier is set to C1. Can I turn on the the other mode?

Also this does not happen with tap water for some reason.

If you go to the settings menu and the humidifier, you can change between classic and system one.
