Dori, no surprise that the hospital staff fell in love with your family. I'm so glad you'll be able to see Mike -- I know you'll make those 15 minutes count (to borrow from RogerSC, *smile*). Thanks so much for the update, and rest assured that lots of thoughts, prayers, and all manner of 'good chi' are being sent your way from out here.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Hi Dori!

Well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery for you both! Hopefully things will be back to normal for you both soon.

Regarding pneumonia, we had a respiratory therapist I had worked with for many years and she felt today's doctors didn't do enough aerosol ie, nebulizer treatments in addition to antibiotics for that condition. Just passing that along, as you say you may be providing the hospital with "helpful suggestions". My brother-in-law got pneumonia and he was hit with heavy antibiotics but nothing in the way of albuterol/ipratroprium or even mucinex. Our respiratory therapist was always keen to keep the phlem moving.

Please keep posting Dori.

Hope all turns out well for sure!

Mike was transferred back to rehab today, doing a little better but will have a long way back. I saw him for 15mins yesterday in the hospital but he got very emotional. I'll be able to see him tomorrow at rehab and stay for awhile as long as I don't overdo and wear a mask. @Jim, you are too funny!! The most important question I asked the rehab RN today was how were the orders transferred for his albuterol/nebulizer treatments. In the hospital he was getting them every 4hrs,she said they were only written prn as needed. I quickly got the orders changed to every 4hrs around the clock. I'll also ask about Mucinex, that's what's helping me. The Dr also lowered his steroid dose so maybe he won't be so excitable. I'll be showing the staff how to adjust his machine/mask tomorrow. It's very hard not being able to take care of him, first time in all these years. Thanks for all the good wishes, hopefully they're beginning to work.

Dori,

I'm still sending praying for you & Mike. Glad things are beginning to get better for you both. Stay on top of the rehab workers & ask for a printout of Mike's meds. That's helpful for you in case they try to 'forget' something. I've been deal with a rehab for my mother-in-law since Dec 29 & I figured out early on to get a printout when changes were made. Although its all done by computer, I've caught several mistakes/problems that way. If he has a roommate make sure they are not MRSA positive, that can create problems you don't need.

Best wishes coming your way,
Jen

Dori -- I pray for continued recovery. As others have said, make sure you keep yourself healthy first, so you can help run the show.

John

Dori,

I just saw this thread as I have not been checking the forum for the last week as thoroughly as I usually do... I add my prayers to all of those above and send both of you healing thoughts.

All my best,

Randy
