hey everyone,

new user here from mississippi. took my sleep test last week and just used my cpap machine for the first time last night. the machine i received is a res med auto escape machine with nasal pillow for a mask. surprisingly, i slept like a rock for almost 9 hours and didn't experience any of the issues most people do their first few weeks. as a matter of fact, i feel great and have not been sleepy at all today.
it is great feeling this good without taking my daily provigil, which i have been taking for over 4 years.

yall have a good day.

Great to hear that some folks have an easy time - congrats!

Out of curiosity, do you know what pressure level your machine is set to?

Are you aware that the Escape Auto has extremely limited data available to monitor your therapy effectiveness.

It gives an average or 95% pressure and generic average AHI with no even category breakdown.
It doesn't even offer leak data...so no way to know if leaks are a problem or not.
People get told "if you have a big leak you will wake up".....well I am here to tell you that I sleep through some pretty massive leaks....so not everyone wakes up with leaks.

It may not matter to you but if you hang around the forum and start seeing other people's reports...your machine isn't a full efficacy data machine...it only has a very partial amount of data gathered beyond hours of use.

See this thread for examples of some reports from full data machines.

Just thought I would give you a heads up about your machine.

I would echo what Pugsy said above and also wish you continued success. However, if your results start to taper off as they sometimes do once your sleep debt is caught up, then consider swapping the Escape for better machine, ie. one with full data capability. That way you can analyze what is going on while you are asleep. The sooner you take the Escape back to your provider/DME the easier it will be to swap for a better machine.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
