New year, still issues

Post by DanWinn » Sat Mar 01, 2014 9:49 pm

Alright,

I have a check up this Friday and I am looking for advice. Currently, I have a machine that I cannot get info from. Secondly, I have not had a new mask since October when I had sinus issues and I changed mask due to DME instructions in July.

I am still sleepy ALOT and I take nuvigil. The nurse practitioner said that the nuvigil may or may not because I do not get enough sleep. Can I ask for a new machine? Can I ask for a new DME if the one I have is not helpful? I was supposed to get an email or text from DME each time i was eligible for a new mask, hose, etc and I have never received anything. I am really sick of struggling with sleepiness. Any help is appreciated.

is there a reason you cant get the data from your machine Is your machine a brick

The machine in your profile says it records data.

The Plus does indeed give "data" ---compliance data.
All machines record compliance data.
They still call it data, without specifying what kind.
Edit: I see you mentioned this same problem on the 27th: (and received very good answers)

If you look, this thread is still here, just back a page or so.

It does say compliance data only.. It is terrible dis-service to have bricks like that out on the market.

They have rules and laws for everything else..

Is there a good way to approach this issue with my doctor and my DME? I want to be able to have better knowledge of how this is helping(not helping) me rather that relying on the doctors educated guess or thought on the issues.

You need to impress your doctor that the no-data machine is NOT helping you.
I don't know if this will work, but aside from that, the only alternative is getting a full data machine out of pocket.
Since you are in Australia, I'm afraid you might be in for a battle--or a second mortgage.
I hate it when dumb machines are sold to nice people.
