Lincare screwed me over, who should I write to?

Post by ellen1159 » Wed Feb 26, 2014 10:09 am

My DME provider is Lincare (I'm in southwestern CT). Did not have a complaint about them until now, 8 mos. after I got my BiPap machine. Dec. 5 my sleepdoc faxed Rx for a new mask, a Swift FX Nano (using the Wisp now and the headgear just doesn't fit right and it leaks like a sieve). I expected Lincare to process the order and that I would get my mask within a few weeks. On Jan, 8 I called the sleepdoc's office and asked if they had sent the order in, they called Lincare and after an involved conversation, I was called back by the doc's office and assured it was taken care of. Jan. 27 I called Lincare and a rather flippant woman told me it was in the works and to check back in a week to ten days, there was some kind of delay out of Texas. On Feb. 7 I called again, this time spoke to a manager who apologized, found my order in the system, and said he would call back in three days. Needless to say, never heard from him. Yesterday I called sleepdoc to verify the date they sent the order to Lincare. They were horrified to learn I still hadn't gotten my mask and said forget about Lincare, we're going to reorder it today from a new supplier. She said that Lincare was terrible and lied to them as well as patients, and that as far as she knew, they may not have even ordered my mask yet.

I'm annoyed. Who should I write to? BBB? State Consumer Protection? I Hate Lincare Facebook page?

Sadly, this is not uncommon. The biggest companies are usually the biggest offenders.
Some local offices are working to properly serve customers locally.
Apparently, you have found one of the "others".
By all means change suppliers if you can.
They had their chance and dropped the ball.
Absolutely file a complaint with BBB.

I would like to recommend that all users who are unhappy with their DME's write your complaint to me. Please include a $20 bill in the envelope. I will make sure your complaint gets to the right people. This offer is only good for the next two years. After that, I'm gonna buy a villa in France with the money.

Today I'm doing my part to clean up my piles of paperwork that a man seems to accumulate, and do I ever have some piles and piles, and piles ,and files to shredd So I'm shredding up a storm. Came across some paperwork on a previous CPAP, ResMed 8, and what my insurance was billed each month You could have bought 4 1/2 - almost 5 CPAP's for what was charged DME's get away with murder!! All you hose heads with lots of free time, head to Colorado, and let's open a CPAP shop. We can sell them for 1/2 off and still make money. That way we don't have to send DRONE $20.00. Chunkyfrog, I'll even throw in a kiss for free, beside the key to the villa. You just might turn out to be a pretty keeper. Course you'd have to put up with an over weight, balding, senior citizen

Lincare screwed me over, who should I write to?
I know a guy in Bay Ridge who knows a guy who can, uh, take care of it, if you know what I mean.

But if he does you this favor, he may one day ask for a favor in return.
