SD card problem
On my S9 I talk out SD Card to down load to sleepyhead no problem but when I put it back in the S9 the display says do you want to erase card (yes or no) if you say no it tells me to remove card, if I say yes it erases card and after awhile it except card and goes to home screen any thoughts would help. Re: SD card problem
I'm guessing but it sounds like you are using a Mac.
So, to fix this problem, when you take the card out but before putting it in the card reader slide the little switch on the side.
This will prevent anything from being written to the card.
When you are done, slide the little switch back to enable writing again.
Resmed machines are really picky about what is on the card and Mac's write to the card when you insert it into the reader.
That is enough to initiate a total rewrite.
Sliding the switch makes it read only and stops the Mac from writing.

Re: SD card problem
We have had random reports of Windows users having this problem. Not as common as with Mac users.
I couple of techie type guys were actually able to isolate the extra file that was put on the SD card by a little Windows program that made the S9 spit it out. I have never had either of my S9 machines spit out the card and I never write protect anything....and we only hear about it rarely...so I don't know what the odds are.
It takes only a few seconds to write protect the card though.
On the off chance the write protect thing isn't the fix here.....I would be leaning towards a bad spot on the SD card as a maybe culprit and I think I would just replace the SD card...doesn't have to be a ResMed card...generic will work just fine.

Re: SD card problem
I'm a Mac user and use sleepyhead. I haven't had any issues of it writing anything on the SD card. I go straight from my S9 to the computer. When I put the card back into my S9 all it says is it's reading the card. Are these Mac users or Window users having the issues?JDS74 wrote:I'm guessing but it sounds like you are using a Mac.

Re: SD card problem
I ran into this issue when I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. Someone else ran into this problem a couple months ago, which is where I found the solution. The solution as described above works for 8.1.

Re: SD card problem
Had exactly the same problem after upgrading to Windows 8.1 last night. I found the solution in this thread: viewtopic/t93729/Windows-81-and-INVALID ... ssage.html It involves deleting the "System Volume Information" folder that Windows 8.1 creates upon insertion of the SD card into your computer. Once you've deleted the folder, the card should work. You can then lock the card next time you put it in your computer to avoid this workaround.digitalepiphany wrote:I ran into this issue when I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. Re: SD card problem
I'm so confused. This is what happened to me last night. I removed my SD card from my S9 machined as usual. I inserted it into my built in card reader on my Windows 8.1 PC. I read my results no problem, but when I reinserted my SD card into my S9 I got the error message "Invalid SD card erase? yes or no " . I tried unplugging, reinserting over and over , it would not take my card. I just left it out for the night. In the morning when I shut my machine off, the message said no card in machine.
So in very simple terms, what do I do now?
Thanks

Re: SD card problem
Put the card in the S9 and answer yes.
Then, next time, slide the tiny read-only switch before inserting into your PC card slot and back after you remove it.
Then put it back into your S9 and you should be good to go.
OMG! Microsoft has hired some Apple operating system engineers and we're all doomed.
Just a joke.<grin>
