Resistance Control?

Post by Snore_nomore » Mon Jan 20, 2014 2:43 pm

In reading the specs on for my machine PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP Machine with A-Flex it says there is a resistance control and patient should tell machine which mask they use. The Resp therapist didn't change anything on the machine after he fit me with a mask.

Can anyone assist me in how to check/change this?

Also is there anyway to see data on the machines screen, or do I have to download sleepy head and the read the SD card on my computer? I'm not sure my machine is recording anything yet as it still says card is at 100%.

The machine has a sticker for a ipad app, but the therapist said only Dr's can use it?

The data that is available on the machine's LCD menu is very limited so for best evaluation you will need to use the software.
To see the data that is available on the machine you have to turn on a feature in the clinical set up menu called "show AHI" which means to show it so the patient can see it.
Also in the clinical setup menu is were the resistance control settings are for Respironics masks.

Here's how to get to the clinical setup menu

there's also a little video at the bottom of the page that helps explain things

Resistance control settings for various Respironics masks can be found here

If you can't figure it out...it is not the end of the world and in fact for non Respironics masks we are told just to turn it off.
It doesn't affect leak reports like the mask selection in the ResMed machines does.

Don't worry about the SD card still showing all available...the files are very small and it will take quite a few of them to register on the SD card as to affecting available space.
I checked my card once and I had about 4 months of data on it and it still showed 97% available.
