Good Morning,
I saw the new ResMed Nasal Pillows on cpap.com and would like to try them out. I have been able to train myself (finally) to use a nasal mask rather than a FFM. My question is this - I am on a ASV that has a normal pressure of 8 / 10 but ramps up to to as high as 18 during centrals, do nasal pillows work with ASVs?
Thank you.

Re: Nasal Pillows for ASV?
I've used my Swift FX the last few nights on my VPAP ST. While not technically ASV, it does provide a backup rate, and my pressures are set at IPAP: 16 and EPAP: 12. Other than air escaping through my lips, which I experienced at lower pressure on my CPAP Autoset, they don't leak. Not at the nose, at least.

Give the nasal pillow mask a try if you want to. People use them at pressures exceeding 20 cm all the time.
The rather quick bursts of higher pressures used to treat the centrals may or may not even be much of a factor with the stability of the nasal pillows.

Ditto to what Pugsy noted. I found they no longer worked under sustained high pressure. But with periodic pressure that only reaches 18cm H2O they should work well.

Yup, can't hurt to try, especially when your typical pressure is low (check your charts). When I've tried them they haven't leaked (I've just mouth-leaked). Most likely if it really has to blast the pressure to get you to breathe, it'll probably wake you up anyway.
Re: Nasal Pillows for ASV?
I used the Resmed FX Nasal pillows with my ASV with pressure up to 22cm to control my centrals.
Seems to be functional.
