2nd night so much better than the first

Post by need_some_sleep » Sat Jan 04, 2014 11:49 am

What a difference a day makes.. This is how I remember feeling on waking once upon a while ago.
I was able to fall asleep with the the mask on and I kept it on the entire night. I slept easily 8+ hours.
my AHI fell from 22.3 the first night down to 11.0 and even with that I feel sooooooooo much better today than yesterday. Better than I have in years.
A friend of mine suggested melatonin or some Chamomile tea. I went the melatonin route, and it helped calm me down enough to fall asleep with the mask on. Still used the ramp because I tried the therapeutic pressure at the start and it was too much to take while awake.
Thank you all for being tolerant with me on this. Sleepiness combined with frustration, fatigue and impatience do not make for a good combination.

Congratulations!
Keep a journal of how you feel with the details of hours of sleep and AHI. Start by carefully detailing how you felt and functioned before you started cpap. It will help on those days where nothing seems to work. Just reading the differences will help. And in a year go back and read it again - you will be amazed at the difference a good nights sleep makes.

YAY!!!! +1 to what spinner said... a journal is a darn good idea, then you will know what happened if you have a glitch in your therapy.
Good luck for many more great nights sleep!!!!!!!
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
