Which pillow size looks to fit better? L or M?

Post by sleepinow » Thu Dec 26, 2013 5:04 pm

I was wondering which size looks right or is better. Please with your help I can come to a decision. The Medium leaks a few times during the night which might be just because I am a side sleeper. I have not slept with the Large but am anticipating that changing to it would require some time since it is a bigger hole and more air flows through. Wouldn't that require a different pressure too? Anyways please help me determine which is the better fit.

THE LARGE!

THE MEDIUM!

AND FINALLY MY NOSTRILS (sorry)

Try both sizes--the pressure is the same. Go with the one that feels best.
To avoid "piggy nose", adjust the headgear loose so that the air pressure pushes the cones onto your nostrils--softly.

I'd say 'medium' but your nasal pillows are not even remotely balanced on your face. Also, you might have a better result if you lighten up on the strap tension. However, given that, only time will tell... test 'em both. That's just the way it is with CPAP. Get some software and look at your leaks lines.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Alright I guess I might stick with the medium. I am just scared sometimes because it feels like it is too deep in my nose and worsens my therapy. It I loosen it, it starts to leak. I also wash it every night to get rid of the oils

I have tried the large and it feels the more confortable because it feels like I barely have anything on my nose and I have not noticed any leaks. I have not slept with it yet. Thanks for your input so far

Sounds like you should try the large, although from the pictures it looks like medium fits you. You may be in-between sizes, I would just go with the one that feels best and gives you the least leaks.

But do be sure that you are not fitting it like you have it in the pictures, off to one side or the other.

The more comfortable it is, the better you will sleep!

You should just barely feel it on, once the machine comes on, and you are at operating pressure, the pillows will puff up, and just the outer silicone will be making contact with your nose, it should in time not be noticeable at all!

Try the large tonight!

I used the mediums for a week, then the large during the next week. Even though I have smaller nostrils for a man, I am liking the large better. When they are fit properly, it should feel a bit too loose on your head. Let the air pressure in the pillows form the seal, not the head gear. Sometimes I lightly pull the holes out of my nose, gently let them fall back into my nose to reposition them. I get a good seal when I let the air pressure do the work for me, not when I jam them in my nose too far. Most nights with a good seal I wake up and literally cannot feel them on my face, I am used to them sure but also they are just resting on my nose, not strapped down like you would seal a ffm.
