Wisp Nasal Hooked To PR S1 Auto??

Post by 95C4 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 9:17 am

Is anyone running a Wisp Nasal CPAP Mask hooked up to a PR System One Remstar 60 Auto CPAP with humidifier & heated tube??

I have a couple of queries.
The Wisp has a short tube with plastic hardware at each end - will that plug into the PR S1 60 tube or do you discard it & plug the mask into the end of the PR S1 heated tube?

Re the Wisp
The Wisp headgear has a tab above each ear - I am a side sleeper, is the TAB noticeable/annoying, if you are side sleeping?

It has 2 headgear options - silicone & cloth.
Anyone tried both & have a preference, & if so, why?

Thank you

The clear tube is part of the mask. Hook the clear swivel into the regular tubing.

You don't discard anything..that end of the short tube will plug right in to the heated hose. The added length from the short hose allows for more freedom of movement with the mask. It's part of the mask.

I tried the Wisp...the headgear was surprisingly very comfortable and the stuff above the ear was a non issue for me and I sleep primarily on my side and always start the night out on my side.

The Swift FX Nano is very similar to the Wisp in how the cushion feels on the face but the headgear is more minimal. You might look at it also.

I like the silicone frame much better than the fabric; but others prefer the fabric.
The silicone sticks to my cheeks enough to hold the cushion up over my nose,
so the cushion rides very gently around my nose--on air pressure, as it should.
The fabric slides around more on me, and I've only used it once.
If someone wants my fabric frame (cheep) please make an offer, by PM.

Of course everyone's likes and dislikes vary, but I have had a few patients use the Nano. The biggest complaint is the cushion is not secured well on your face. The weight of the hose itself tugs on it a little bit. This bothers some people. The wisp is definitely more secured to the face. The Nano is more similar to a Simplicity.
