Night-Time Oxymeter

Post by Ruinednose » Mon Dec 16, 2013 5:34 pm

I want an Oxymeter that i can have on my finger all night and check my oxygen levels in the morning as a report that happened all night. What are these called and where can i buy an affordable one.

I looked at WalMart but they got a cheap 30$ one but i just don't think its for a whole night. theirs said it was a pulse/oxygen thing.

Please help, and thanks

http://www.pulseoxstore.com/Downloadable-Pulse-Ox.html -go for the CMS 50D+ - the 'plus' part is very important - the one without the plus doesn't do overnights. It works, half of us have them and the seller is very good about working with you.

What Julie said...
You have to be careful with the models because not all will record over night. Walmart doesn't have any of those as far as I know.
SleepyHead is compatible with the CMS 50 D Plus...if you look closely on EBay you can find them for a little less coming from China seller.
I bought mine from the pulseoxstore that Julie linked to in her post. Costs a little more from them but I knew I would have Kevin's support if I needed it with either the machine or software.

I was thinking about getting an oximeter as well and have a question for those of you using the CMS 50D+. I noticed that model uses 2 AAA batteries and wondered how long it can be used before needing to replace the batteries?

I see the CMS 50E comes with a rechargeable battery but it costs $55 more. So... I'm just trying to figure out just how much usage it would take to justify the additional $55.

I found a great price for the CMS-50E. It is on sale for $82.95; and I found a 5% off promo code which brought the total, delivered price down to $78.80.

Would this be something that would be useful during an in lab sleep study? I am having an in lab sleep study that is scheduled for February. I had a home sleep study that was done and diagnosed using such a product in September of this year. So I requested a re-test for more accurate results. So, would this provide me any information for my own use, or am I being too.... well, something?

The sleep lab will definitely hook you up to one of their oximeters during the study.

Lots of forum member use an overnight pulse ox in addition to their cpap machines to monitor their own data just for their own peace of mind.
They either do it every night or randomly depending on what eases their mind.
I bought one and used it once when using my machine and it didn't show anything exciting so didn't bother using it any more.
They will hook you up to one when you have the in lab sleep study though..so it's part of the sleep study.
Up to you if you think this is something you want to monitor yourself.

I got a non recording one from my oxygen company on a loan that is just all over the place with my O2 levels. I think these things just don't work on me.

I had one of these for a couple of years.

http://www.clinicalguard.com/handheld-p ... p-171.html

My screen is going dim/bad now and I had a problem when changing out batteries it would not turn on right away. I would have to mess with it finally get it to turn on. I like the screen graphics. The menu system is a pain to navigate to shut the alarms off. It not a high dollar oximeter but it does the basics, has alarms, and records data that can be viewed on screen or put on software on a pc. I would like to find a good quality oximeter thats just like it. Maximo has the good technology that picks up even when the blood circulation is not so great or you get bumps or jitters from movement. If anyone comes across some good chinese copies that are cheap post them. I think Maximo targets the medical industry and not the patient type customer.
