Stomach belching and burping (not aerophagia)

Post by Ruinednose » Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:18 pm

Almost always after I lay down I begin to burp and hiccup. Sometimes with acid reflux sometimes just burp. In the morning I hear belching in my abdomen. What's mat be the cause. I had this before bipap therapy as well. Even worse it has gotten better? What could it be anyone else experience this?

What and when are you eating and drinking?

How much and of what kind of exercise do you do?

It sound like some buggies are having a convention in your stomach every night. They will probably always do that. By eating and exercise you can somewhat control attendenance.

It seems that some starches (or maybe it's the quantity?) cause an increase in my "volcanic activity".
The other night my "pyroclastic gasses" spilled off the edge of the bed, and some actually went in the back of my machine.
Eeeew!

If you belch out the air that gets into your stomach (no matter how it gets there) then it doesn't get a chance to make it to the end of the line and become more than a casual fart.

You might do some reading up on the LES junction to the stomach. Lower Esophageal Sphincter....if it is weak then sometimes it allows more air to go from the esophagus and get into the stomach and either get belched out or pass along to end up as a fart.
Sometimes CPAP pressure sneaks past a weakened LES...we still call it aerophagia for lack of a better word even though technically we didn't swallow it I suppose.

Sometimes people with a history of GERD issues will have a LES that is damaged, scarred or otherwise less than optimal in function and it just lets too much air sneak into the gut....once in there it has to go somewhere.

No, that would be gastric insufflation.

i have normal occuring casual farts
I will try that on my wife. "But dear, it was just a normal casual fart, nothing serious."

Your post is as a 6 years old wrote it. Can you recompose it more meaningfully (correct the grammar ?

Avil - when your English becomes 100% fluent and colloquial, then you get to criticize someone else's efforts. NOT beforehand!

Don't you dare let Avi get you down. He is doing what he likes to do...nit pick...and that's pretty much all he does really well.
Ignore him. He likes to make fun of people and the way they talk or spell words or just in general because he doesn't like them or thinks it's cool to make fun of someone..
He makes fun of the way I talk all the time and English is the only language I know. He doesn't like me. Big surprise.
Just tell him to go jump in the lake if you want to or somewhere else to go if you have a mind to....

Your English is just fine. We all know what you meant and as for typos...heck I make them all the time. No big deal.
No one is perfect except maybe Avi (in his mind I guess).

Ruinednose, please do not be put off by Avil's comments and please please do not suffer quietly.
I too feel personally very injured and shocked by Avil's unnecessary comments.

I understand where you are coming from as I too speak 3 and a bit languages and am master of none!
My written English is very poor, indeed, unfortunately. Takes me hours to write anything and at the end, it is still not very good!
However I have found this forum to be a place of great knowledge, help and support.

Please do not be put off by one bad egg!
I am sure I am not alone, if I say to you that 99.9% of people here are non judgemental and only want to offer you their help and support.

Please keep posting, you are amongst friends.
