Playing With Pressure

Post by Oddprofessor » Sun Dec 01, 2013 7:16 pm

My original Rx had my pressure starting at 4 and ramping up to 6. I felt mildly suffocated, so I changed it to 9, but I seemed to have a lot of centrals every night, so last night I dialed it back to 7.5. Had a really good night's sleep with about half the number of centrals.

Of course, it's only one night, but maybe I'm getting the hang of this.

We usually recommend a small incremental change and to leave each for a few nights. Jumping right to 9 is a bit much.

I normally go up maybe .5 or 1 and use it for a week to give my body time to adjust while I check my numbers and see how thru go. Small adjustment can make a huge difference. I've also learned to adjust only one setting at a time. Like only adjust your pressure and nothing else. I was doing my pressure, per, humidity all at the same time and could never figure out why I wasn't getting good results. Trial and error.

what time were your centrals recorded? Did they occur not long after you went to bed or just before you fully woke up?

Our home machines really can't identify centrals as well as the sleep lab's machines...

your centrals could just be "sleep wake junk" in which you stopped breathing while shifting positions

I agree.... changing pressure setting 0.5 to 1.0 and checking data after about a week is the preferring method.
