Karens new mask liners are awesome!

Post by islandboy5150 » Thu Nov 14, 2013 9:15 pm

Been a while since I ordered a mask liner, but.... The new ones I just got in for my Q are AWESOME! They have built in nose bridge protector pads! I'm just getting over a real bad open sore and these are gonna go a long way to keeping it healed and feeling great! Thanks Karen!

if it weren't for Pad-A-Cheek and Karen, I'd never have been successful in my CPAP therapy.

BTW... my liners for my Quattro lasted 13 months before they got thread-bare & needed to be replaced...

awesome product, awesome quality!!

Completely agree. It was like night and day once I started using a liner from her. It's almost like falling asleep with a soft little kitten on your face.

After reading such glowing comments, I have to try this. All the members who commented have the same mask as mine (Mirage Quattro full face). I should order Mask Liner FFA, right?

I am not exactly sure what these liners are. What are they and what do they do? Can some one spell this out for me? I am not understanding and thick headed.

Bill, soft fabric between your mask and your face will wick away sweat,
and quiet down the rude noises made when air escapes around the cushion.
The mask will feel warmer in winter and cooler in summer; and delicate skin may not get irritated as easily.

Thanks frog.. does this tie on to the mask? How does it stay in place?

I think i must be the only person on this forum who hasn't had a lot of luck with the Pad A Cheek liners. The only mask that the liners did work well on was the Mirage Quattro however the mask itself didn't end up suiting my face shape so i stopped using it. I've kept on ordering different liners from Karen in the hope that they would work but no such luck. Maybe i have a strange face shape. With the Mirage Quattro, before i stopped using it, i thought i'd give the anti-leak strap a try. Big mistake. All it did was drag the whole mask down my face. If i loosened the strap, it simply fell off my head. Next, i tried the liners for the Inomed Hybrid. Big mistake. It made this mask leak like a sieve and displaced the nasal plugs. I've now just purchased the F&P Eson mask. Brilliant mask however it does leave a nice little red mark on the bridge of my nose. Reluctantly, i though i'd give pad a cheek one more try as the liners for the Eson also have a nose bridge protector. Silly me. The liner with the nose bridge protector makes the Eson leak badly - which is no mean feat given this mask seals perfectly for me. I cut the nose bridge protector off to see if this made any difference and the liner still makes the mask leak no matter how much i play with it.

Don't get me wrong - i think Pad a Cheek is a wonderful product and Karen does a great job but has anyone else had problems with these liners?

I use a PapCap, dual nose bridge protector pads, a special fleece mask liner (Karen made it special for me - thanks) and another new style mask liner on top of that. The fleece one is working as a backing for the new liner. I wear it over tightened a bit, but it feels wonderful and works even better. It's truly like a kitten on my face, only it hisses instead of purrs lol.

If it weren't for Karen's ingenuity and her mask liners and pads, I would certainly not be CPAP compliant and probably wouldn't be alive today to even write this post. I've been compliant for seven years because of Karen, and I just know it's saved my life.

I sleep like a teenager on vacation.

Question: the liner came in today and once I set it up as described I noticed a hole in the liner for the nose but no hole for the mouth. Now, if you only breathe through nose this wouldn't be a problem. But I also breathe through the mouth (this is the main reason I use a full face mask in the first place!). Am I expected to breathe through the liner (when I breathe through the mouth)? Or am I supposed to cut an additional hole?

My PadaCheek for my new Quattro FX FFM didn't help much in my recent experiments, but the one for my Wisp is killer. I couldn't use the Wisp without it... no leaks, no farts and no eyeball jets. As far as I can tell, it's kinda mask by mask and face by face. Comment for drdigital1: You have to cut the liner to fit your mouth, but caution, you have to snip a little at a time and see how it works. It might take several days to get the fit right and the holes do stretch a little but not as much as the homemade cotton ones.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

If I am not having problems with my mask, would you recommend a liner anyway? I am in my first week of therapy and am still learning the ropes.
