So I experienced my first night with my new bed buddy. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought. It will definitely take some getting used to, but overall, I feel as though I got a decent night's sleep. What surprised me was how I felt this morning. I felt, well, AWAKE. I am not expecting miracles. In fact, I'm tired right now. I know it takes time. But I felt a difference in the way I felt when I woke up this morning. Amazing what a difference a day makes. It gives me some hope that eventually I won't be falling down exhausted by the afternoon.

Congratulations! It is not easy but it will pay dividends in the weeks and months ahead. Nothing like waking up rested.

Re: Made it through the first night
Way to go, "ready". I've been on CPAP since early this year and the experience demands patience and the willingness to adapt. After the first two weeks I was ready to blow up the machine, hose, and masks. Several buddies talked me through things, introduced me to this fine forum, and kept telling me that the rewards would be down the road. They were SO right!
Two nights ago I sat back and a little revelation hit me: I hadn't yawned once all day. Before my CPAP I endured decades of poor sleep, the need for late afternoon naps, and many many yawns.
Life is much better now as it will be for you. Hang in there!
