CPAP sounds like a kazoo

Post by Crazy Eddie » Wed Nov 06, 2013 4:57 pm

I have a resptronics PR60. The filter buzzes about inside the intake and makes kazoo noises. Often it wakes me up. Have to keep pushing on the filter in different ways to get it to stop, and generally it only does for a little while. I thought maybe it was dirty and so replaced it...which helped a little, but did not stop it.

Anyone know how to solve this annoyance?

Also, my heated tube seems to shut off after a while. Is it supposed to? Goes from warm air to pretty damn cold. A little frustrating.

Are these third party filters; or OEM?

Are you using both the white fine filter (inside behind the foam filter) and the gray foam filter or are you just using the foam filter.

What is the model name or number of your machine. If it isn't an option in the equipment menu we usually suggest just adding it to the comments section...like where you mentioned it wasn't available.
If you tell me the 3 digit model number I can tell which machine for sure you are using. The model number is on the bottom of the blower unit...3 digits normally preceded by a DS or REF

We kind of need to know which of the Series 60 models you have. To help you figure it how, you may find reading through my
Newbie Guide to Respironics Machines useful.

It's a 560.

I think it must not be the filter doing it. I pulled them both out last night and let it run. The noise was still there. I stuck my finger in the hole and pushed on something and the noise seems gone....so far.

The 560 machine choice is available in the equipment menu.
It's the PR System One 60 series Auto CPAP machine

If the noise continues or returns have it checked out by the DME..
