Water In mask

Post by ajnitti » Sun May 21, 2006 8:44 am

I have just received my first cpap machine- Respironics M Series- with cflex ,smart card and a humidifier. I have 2 Questions....1. Is this machine normally load when you exhale... 2. My mask has been accumulating water, i have my humidifier set at 2.

For the water in the mask problem, you can try to lower the heater to 1 or try a heated hose to reduce condensation.

I'm not sure what you're asking with question #1.

Do you mean to ask of our machines are "loud" (make noise?)

Most machines a louder when they blow more air.
I know nasal pillows masks make more noise - are louder - when you exhale.

Having your machine lower than your bed will help a little bit with the water problem. Try it and if it doesn't help, order the heated hose from the above web page. You won't be sorry.

While waiting for the heated tube, you can try insulating your present hose. I spiral wrapped mine with an old fleece muffler I had. It helped but doesn't work as well as the Ausie heated tube.
