Download Fails, with Encore Viewer 2

Post by Captain_Midnight » Fri Nov 01, 2013 6:51 pm

Hi Folks.

After several happy and error-free years with Encore Viewer 2, I'm now getting a "Download Failed" warning from the software (past two nights).

I tried a new card reader, and cleaned the contacts on the s.d. card, but alas, it continues to fail to download data.

I'll try a new s.d. card tomorrow (and hoping that an 8 gig sdhd is okay) ; but, in the meantime, I thought I'd ask the techies hereabouts if they could offer me any enlightenment and additional suggestions. (Thanks in advance.)

Regards all - - Capt Midnite

Have you tried reinstalling the software...assuming you still have the setup files?

Pugsy asks a reasonable question...Have you tried reinstalling the software...assuming you still have the setup files?

I do have the software; however I suspect that it's more of an hd card issue. If a new card does not do the trick (or if a clever poster here doesn't come up with a quick fix), I'll absolutely re-install. (Kind of a pain on Windows 7 w a 64 bit processor, IIRC).

Thanks muchly for the response.

Encore as we both know can be a bit of a PITA.
I sent you a PM...let's try an alternate software and see if it can find the download files.

The newer machines seem to play nice with those HDSD cards but I don't know about the older models. It used to be that we couldn't use those HiDef cards...don't know when it changed.

Hello I am new to the forums. I just got an Remstar SE and trying to get the software to read the SD card info.
On the bottom of my machine it states:
REMstar SE, DOM
REF 220P

Also both the CPAP and attached humidifier say RX Only IP22

Guessing this is the build date on the CPAP says: 20131113

Any help would be appreciated. God Bless.

Unfortunately that model machine doesn't collect any data that would make it worthwhile to use the software.
It collects hours of use on that SD card..what we normally call "compliance data" ...hours of use so that insurance company knows you are using and thus they will pay for it.

You might want to read this blog...especially the part near the bottom about "help, I have been given a brick"
http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/

Also you might want to read the part she has done about what to do before you meet your DME...even though you already have met them it explains how insurance companies pay for these machines and they pay the same for a full data as they do for the brick.

You will need model 450 or higher in the PR system One line to have any useful data.
The Remstar SE is pretty much the base model.

You may be able to swap that machine out for a full data machine...if you can we can help with the software.

I can confirm that PR System Ones from 2011 can NOT use the SDHD cards. I tried and the System One itself throws up its hands and squawks about the card being unreadable.
