I just started using an Amara FFM as my two year search for the perfect mask for my face continues. In each case I still keep going back to the Mirage Quattro, and I had high hopes for the Amara. I started out with the silicon and hated it and am now trying the gel. That fits okay, but the mask is so noisy. I have an S9 elite with the humidifier and my pressure is 18. Being an engineer, I tried to figure out where the noise was coming from and am wondering now if maybe my mask is defective and was wondering what wisdom others have in this area.
I found last night that the noise is coming from the swivel tube (90 degree tube) that hooks into the frame and eventually snaps into the removable cushion. If I push the 90 degree tube into the frame, most of the noise stops except for the micro air vents on top of the bend of the 90 degree tube. Now the noise is acceptable. As soon as I release pressure on the tube, noise returns. It's almost as if air is leaking around the swivel. Is this right? I can't imagine the mask being designed intentionally with a swivel that isn't sealed and allows air past it. Any ideas???
Is my Amara Defective?

Re: Is my Amara Defective?
I am still waiting for my Amara, but I hang my hose high with my Elan, routing the hose towards the headboard, then up.
