Hi all,
I just tried the Hybrid mask and had some problems with leakage. Seems like all was OK until my ramping was off, then I needed a readjustment (the thing almost blew off my face). After readjustment, and clamping down a little harder, I seemed to battle back some of the leakage. However, in the middle of the night, I had to readjust at nearly every toss 'n turn.
Hopefully, it's a matter of finding the right adjustment on the head gear, mask size, and nasal pillow size. I'll let you know if I find success or not over the next couple of weeks. Any tips, please let me know.
Thanks,
telly

there are fitting instructions around here somewhere... tips from Rooster.
The big thing that I had to adjust was the over the head strap. That's what made all the difference.

The instructions are .... taming the hybrid, its an old thread but well worth the read.
I wore the hybrid for over 2 years and it worked great.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I found that the top adjustment made the most difference.
I also use a light weight elastic strap across the nose pillows. That meant I didn't have to jam the pillows in tight from the top.
The hybrid is really hard to get to fit because of all the sizes and possible adjustments. Once you do have a good fit under full pressure it is a wonderful mask.

Hi all,
Watched the video and I had one main thing wrong, the head gear was on inside out! Anyway, last night I watched all the videos on YouTube (my Mac no longer has a DVD drive!) and figured that out. I was able to wear the mask all night last night and it worked out OK. One thing that did happen is that one of the nasal pillows came loose in the middle of the night and made one helluva racket. Once I popped it back in, I was able to get back to sleep, though. I think that was the only time I woke up, so this mask when fitted correctly, seems to be doing its job well. I'll report back soon.
Thanks!

That is why I use a lingerie elastic strap across the pillows and around my head. It doesn't need and tension on it really. I have this cute turned up nose (or Miss piggy style nose) and the angle is too sharp for the pillows to stay in.

I read on here from someone that it wasn't until they used the small mouth piece with the large nasal pillows that their leaks got resolved. I tried it and have definitely had less leakage. Also use a bit of pantyhose to keep the pillows in place. I really think a pillow somewhere between the med and large would be perfect.

Things are getting a little better with this mask. It is tough to put back on if you get up in the middle of the night, though. I've got the medium size with the large nasal pillows now. Seems to be OK.
More to come. Let's see if I feel more rested in the next couple of weeks.
