Sleepyhead data went crazy

Post by Chris17 » Fri Sep 27, 2013 12:09 pm

I have gotten out of the habit of viewing my data every few days and now go about a month. I regularly check the machine in the morning and I'm always under 3, so I'm not that concerned about what SH can tell me except for looking at longer term trends. I just downloaded data and from August 25 through September 11, it has AHI values from 300 to over 2000. I think my last download was August 24. When I select each day, there are statistics breaking down the events, but there is a big cube floating in the main panel saying No Data. When I try to purge a single day's worth of data, the program crashes. I have not tried purging all data as I am not sure what that would do.

When viewing an individual day there is information in the Detail tab, but nothing in the Events tab. The Sleep/Wake times look reasonable.

Could this be a problem with the machine? Is it a Sleepyhead issue? How can I purge those days?

One consequence of this is when I go to Overview, the scale starts with 375, so even if I just look at the last week, I can't see any of the graph.

Chris, I don't use Sleepy Head b/c I am lucky to have a Resmed machine and can use ResScan program. See here the absurd data that I got in SH:

Compare the 95% values that SH shows for Leak(s) during the last 6 months of 25.20 L/Min to that of ResScan of 7.2 L/min which is the correct value.

well, the first question I am not so sure about - but for the leakage - recall that sleepyhead does not know what mask you have to subtract the "mask leakage" from the total leakage. The graph in sleephead is the total leakage. Total leakage = "mask leakage or vent" + "actual leakage, or the leak from the mask seal to the face". For my mask, the base leak at my pressure is 30 - so I know anything in the 30 range is 100% seal ...

Comment,

So why SH does not ask for type of mask to be entered?

If I add the intentional leak of my mask of 34 L/Min to ResScan's 7.2 L/Min I get total leak of 41.2 L/Min and not 25.2 L/Min as SH shows.

It's a SleepyHead issue and your 60 series machine.

Is your 0.9.3 version from the May 18/19, 2013 install files or the prior version with the Patch file fix to bring it up to 0.9.3?
To see which build of SleepyHead open SH and click on the About SH tab...see what build you have.

It is version 0.9.3 starting with a prior version and patches to get to that version. There were no problems from February through August 24 and no problems from September 12 to present. Just those couple weeks where the data is literally off the chart.

So is there a way to delete the data? The purge single day option just crashes the program, so I can't do that.

Only a couple of weeks of whacko data???
Try going to each one of the nights in questions and turning off the sessions for those nights.
On the left side of the reports under the statistics data scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page till you see a little green box...click on the box(es) for each session to turn it red. See if that helps.
The purge thing...I ever could get it to work either.
Otherwise a reinstall of SleepyHead maybe??
If you remove SleepyHead there is a folder in MyDocuments called SleepyHeadData that also needs to be removed because it is untouched by an uninstall so it contains the old corrupted data.

Yes, it was just about 2 weeks of data that was crazy. Turning off those few days solved the most immediate problem of distorting the graph. I'll think about a reinstall. Thanks for the help.
