Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I'm looking for someone who might know something about the Devilbiss Auto Adjust CPAP machine. I started using it about 6 weeks ago, and it worked fine. When I checked the quick view numbers every morning, my AHI, high leak, and daily usage seemed logical. About 3 weeks ago, it started displaying numbers that didn't make sense. It does it every morning, and the numbers are always the same (AHI=31.5+, high leak=31+%, daily usage=9.3+), I go through the whole quick view process and then re-run it. The second time around, the numbers are logical. I read a few postings from 2011 from other Intellipap Auto Adjust users with this same problem, so I know this is not a new issue with this machine. Unfortunately, I never read anything about a resolution. Can anyone help me?

I have not experienced this with my machine.
You might want to alert the folks you obtained the machine from as to what is going on.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
In less than 3 weeks total use (over several months), my Intellipap Autoadjust has generated "smart codes" that don't work--TWICE!!!
Of course, it's only my travel/back-up machine, so I'll just take the data module next trip.
I was going to email DeVilBiss, but I think I forgot to do that. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I've found that some codes haven't worked when I put them in on Cpap.com for a report, but then I've gone back to the machine and read it again (I'm not much good first thing in the a.m.) and found I've entered e.g. an O instead of a 0, a G instead of a C, etc. etc.... so check again to make sure that's not the problem.
Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I've been using the Intellipap Autoadjust for about 3 years now. I never have a problem with the SmartCodes unless I copy a number or letter incorrectly from the machine.
I also use Sleepyhead software and get the same results - although Sleepyhead gives more accurate numbers. The SmartCode rounds them up. Both are virtually the same for me.
Don't have any idea what the problem might be with your machine. I would suggest you install Sleepyhead and check to see if the problem is with the machine.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I'm not talking about the smart codes. When I enter the smart codes into a website to generate a report, I get readings that are correct and logical. What I'm talking about are readings that appear on the LCD screen when I initially run the quick view menu each day..... they're always the same and aren't logical. As I said, if I go through the whole process once and then re-run it a second time, the readings change and make sense. I'm just frustrated that a machine that's only 6 weeks old isn't working properly. I talked to a Devilbiss tech today and was told it's a firmware glitch. Not every Intellipap Auto Adjust does this, but it's an issue they are aware of. I read somewhere in a 2011 posting something about a cable you can buy to upgrade the firmware. Anyone know anything about this? I really don't want to have to purchase a cable for a 6-week old machine plus, not knowing what I'm doing, I'd probably really mess up my machine.
Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I've never looked at that on the screen of my machine. I must give it a look.
Let us know what you find out about this cable. It probably is a USB cable that connect to the Devilbiss site on the internet and upgrades the firmware.
If that is the case, I 'd like to know about it. Thanks.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
My machine does exactly the same thing however I believe it happens when it hasn't had enough time to calculate the final figures. If I wake up, take the mask off and reach over to check the figures I usually get the strange numbers. If I leave it off for a few minutes and then check the numbers on the screen I then get numbers that make more sense.

I have had this issue as well and it must be something to do with their firmware. You can resolve this by doing the following to check the ahi, leak, and usage readings:
First press the left arrow button and then press the right arrow twice to get to the Quick View Menu. Then use the left arrow to see the usage, leak, and ahi. You will see the correct numbers. No idea why you have to go left first but it works.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I just noticed there was a firmware release dated 12/2013 that sounds like it was to address this specific issue:
V0.23 12/11/2013
Fixed a Quick View data refresh issue that caused invalid values to be shown when accessing the Quick View menu in the morning.

Re: Devilbiss Intellipap Auto Adjust Bogus Numbers
I haven't had this problem because I use a SmartLink module. However, I think that I remember that a conclusion of the prior discussion was that if you check the codes too quickly after you get up, the machine has not yet completed the calculations, so you get gibberish. If you wait a few minutes, then it provides the right numbers. I'm not sure, but I suspect that the processors used in these machines are not the fastest things in the world and the Intellipap itself seems to have very limited memory. Both of these add up to the need to give it a chance to finish it's work before you check the numbers.
