from what I've read, the pressure difference between IPAP and EPAP should be around 3-4 but my difference is consistently around 1.2-1.4

Where are these numbers coming from????These were the differences so far:

Are these numbers coming from SH's data summary? If so, then they have something to do with what your EPR setting is. And on an AutoSet, those numbers will never exceed 3cm since the max EPR setting is 3.
Can you tell us what your machine's settings are? What's your min pressure? max pressure? and EPR?
