Re: Two in a row!!!
I think the S9 has a known issue where it starts reporting 0 AHIs and gets stuck that way until reset. I'm not saying that's what happened to you ... but for safety sake you might want to unplug the unit for a minute and then plug it back in...
Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Re: Two in a row!!!
Don't you just hate it when someone rains on your parade?
Congratulations on not one but 2 nice perfect 0.0 AHI nights. Not impossible especially if your AHI was always low anyway.
Now if you have them 7 night's in a row...then I would be doing the machine reset reboot for sure. The S9 getting stuck reporting 0.0 is not at all that rare and that is why we mention it and suggest the reboot of the firmware on the machine.
A while back I had one guy who was nearly breaking his arm patting himself on the back because he was seeing 0.0 every single night for 2 weeks...did the reboot thing and quickly realized it was a minor machine glitch. I really rained on his parade.
BTW it isn't always AHI getting stuck on 0.0...it can be any report data point getting stuck reporting the same thing over and over.
It might be AHI getting stuck at 1.2 or leak getting stuck and reporting same thing night after night.

Re: Two in a row!!!
Personally, I might consider a harsh punishment for such a spoil sport, lol. Seriously, that's good info to have. I wasn't aware of that issue. I had a couple days of 0.0 but then had a more normal .5. Before your post I would not have even questioned a bunch of 0.0s. I just would have thought therapy was going swimmingly!Pugsy wrote:Don't you just hate it when someone rains on your parade?

Hubby is also on CPAP - has CA and uses Respironics M series Pro with c-flex.

Re: Two in a row!!!
Yeah I come in here to do a happy dance and someone rolls marbles under my feet!
Seriously, thanks for the info, I was not aware of that. I will power cycle the thing tonight and see what happens.
However I think it might be real. I have had a month or more of sub 1.0 nights. So I think it is possible!

Re: Two in a row!!!
Since you consistently have nice low less than 1.0 AHI nights anyway then what you are seeing is most likely the real deal.SleepDisturbed wrote: However I think it might be real. I have had a month or more of sub 1.0 nights. So I think it is possible!
Now since I can count on one hand the number of 0.0 nights I have ever seen in 4 years... I would be wondering what was wrong with my machine. My AHI normally runs between 1 and 2 and even 3. Below 1.0 is not all that common for me.
I don't normally rain on someone's parade unless they start bragging about a week's worth of straight 0.0 nights but since Kevin already did I figured I would offer the full explanation for anyone else reading this.
I have seen reports where the leak line and numbers are identical for 3 nights in a row. Now that is pretty much a statistical impossibility. Numbers yes but not the leak line itself.
Pat yourself on the back and enjoy your success.

Quick question regarding the 'stuck' on a repetitive reading. Does this issue appear only on the machine, or does the data get imported into Resscan & Sleepyhead?
Thanks!

Re: Two in a row!!!
I had that happen on my Respironics machine. Normal night AHIs were around 0.5. I thought maybe something was broken.SleepDisturbed wrote:Last two nights AHI = 0.0

Went to my Sleepyhead software. All was operative. There were very few flow limitation events (which don't count in AHI score, and the auto kicked in to try to fix them.
Conclusion: the 0.0 was legit. If you had low scores before, and this was within a few sigma of the mean, I'll bet it's real.
Re: Two in a row!!!
Good question Bill. For about a week my S9 machine display was stuck on showing that I'd slept for 24 hours every day (ha, I wish!) and the AHI was unusually high for me. Interestingly, though, SleepyHead was showing the correct info about when I turned on and off the machine, and the AHI looked on par with how it's been all year. I unplugged everything for a while yesterday, and this morning the machine data is correct and in sync with what SH is showing. I have no idea how the machine was incorrectly storing info yet SH was getting it right.wm_hess wrote:Quick question regarding the 'stuck' on a repetitive reading. Re: Two in a row!!!
I have seen ResScan and SleepyHead reports where the data appears "stuck"...that's how I know about leak line and leak numbers as well as general AHI. So it can appear in the software too.wm_hess wrote:Quick question regarding the 'stuck' on a repetitive reading.
