DME Sent new SD Card

My DME mailed me a new Respironics SD Card and told me I had to mail the other one back. My insurance doesn't require compliance data so I don't know why they would want it. I haven't even brough it to my doctor. Do DME's download the info and generate reports for the doctor?

Yes, sometimes they (the DME) will generate reports and send them to the doctor if the doctor doesn't have the software to generate the reports.
Sometimes DMEs are so used to obtaining data for insurance compliance reasons they just automatically tell everyone to send their SD card in...so that might also be a reason.

I would call the DME and ask why they want the SD card (since you already know that your insurance doesn't require compliance usage proof) and also call the doctor's office to check to see if they want a copy of the reports...and did they ask the DME to get the report.
Call the doctor's office yourself though...don't rely on what DME tells you about doctor wanting it until you hear it from the doctor's office.
