Ok this is just a whinge, I don't know postage costs etc.
BUT I've been looking at prices for a humidifier chamber for my machine. Here in Australia prices start at $100-150AUD plus postage. Our host of this site cpap.com has the exact same part for approx $44AUD plus postage (and I can't forsee that costing $100).
Ridiculous

Re: Price difference whinge
I was surprised that our host has one for mine for $22-$23 usd ... My DME told me that my price (with me paying 100% because I have not met my ins deductible yet) would only be $15 ... I'm going in Monday to get a mask, any ffm $136 she said ... Time will tell ...

Re: Price difference whinge
Prices are set either by the manufacturers or else by governments (re complicated tariff setting, etc.) and trying to match them according to dollar equivalents may have no bearing on it. It's not only about shipping costs.
Re: Price difference whinge
I know exactly where you are coming from. I don't even think of buying CPAP gear locally here in NZ. For an example, if I did buy locally, I would pay NZ$160 for a Resmed H5i humidifier chamber (dishwasher safe) for which I can get it for NZ$40 from a US supplier - criminal when you think that it has just come from across the ditch (the water between us and Aussie). As has been said shipping doesn't come into it - it is a numbers game - you are either a small number (NZ) or a big number (US).

Xpap: a rare exception to the statement that medical care costs are highest in the States.
