Advance and Elan--Which Has The Most Comfortable Headgear?
Advance and Elan--Which Has The Most Comfortable Headgear?
I am trying to decide between these two masks. I have TMJ issues and I am trying to decide which has the most comfortable headgear. The Advance looks like the headgear might be a little more comfortable, but I am leaning towards the Elan because it looks like it would have less eye leaks. Also, my nose is long and narrow, would that affect which one will have the best fit? What are your experiences with both. I have read the Elan vs Advance thread. Thanks in advance!

That's totally subjective, how masks fit differs with the user, no one can truly answer your question. Get the size correctand make your best bet., maybe your horse will come in. Thanks, Jim, I really am wanting to know other people's experiences with the mask. It is true that mask fit differs with users, but one of the nice things about the forum is that we get to read about how various masks work for each other. So far I am using the Swift LT and Swift FX, but I am still waiting on that darn horse!Goofproof wrote:That's totally subjective, how masks fit differs with the user, no one can truly answer your question. Re: Advance and Elan--Which Has The Most Comfortable Headgear?
I think the Elan is the better mask but I remember going on vacation with my husband's aunt. She wore cheap flat shoes with absolutely no support. We wore the same size so I talked her into trying a pair of my shoes with good support. It wasn't long before we had to go back to the car for her to change into her cheap no support shoes. Comfort is everything and what is best for one isn't the best for everyone. We just have to try them one. I have given away all of my old worn out Sleepweavers for people to experiment with or I would send you one. Old worn out masks do still have a purpose.

Re: Advance and Elan--Which Has The Most Comfortable Headgear?
I've tried both, and ended up preferring the Advance. I actually prefer the headgear on the Elan, however, but I could not eliminate the leaks with that mask. From my experience, the SleepWeaver masks are very sensitive to differences in facial anatomy, and the only way to find out which will work for you is to try both.
To elaborate on the headgear, the Elan has a four-point harness that does not cover the forehead or the bridge of the nose. The Advance has a three-point harness that does have a strap across the forehead. The Elan tended to leave my hair less messy in the morning, but other than that they're both very comfortable.
