For Her??

Post by ypeels » Mon Jul 29, 2013 3:40 pm

Maybe a silly question but what is the difference in the S9 autoset and H5i humidifer that has a "for Her" version?

A quick glance at manuals doesn't state much. Don't tell me they are male and female versions!

It's just pink and it makes the ladies feel good, puts a feminine touch on it.

Just throwing this out there.

If anyone is considering getting one of the "for her" pink machines, I would highly recommend you physically see one in person. I had a person come into the store the other day, and said it was the ugliest shade of pink she had ever seen. She elaborated further, while evaluating the color, she said it was making her ill, as though she needed to vomit.

I didn't make that up. True story.

After 5 yrs., I was due to receive a new machine from Medicare. My DME didn't win the Medicare contract in my area to supply machines which started July 1. He said he was not going to stock ResMeds anymore because he couldn't make any profit on them but he had a few pink ones left. I told him pink didn't bother me even though I am a male. In fact pink can be quite a pleasant color. I got the pink one on June 29th. It wasn't really pink. I agree, the color wasn't pleasant but didn't make me want to vomit. I can't recall any color that made me want to vomit. Certain smells have that effect, such as someone elses vomit.

Since I am a Yankee fan, I solved the problem by getting a Yankee baseball skin for my CPAP.

Ed

PS Got the new improved Tap Pap 4 days ago from CPAP.com and agree it is a great improvement.

PPS Neither of my 2 DME'S that accepted medicare and my secondary insurance are going to carry ResMed products anymore.

:

I have the pink version, and I'm happy with it. When I scheduled my appointment, I just figured they would have both dull grey and fabulous pink in stock, and I could choose. No go, since they had already opened the machine and discarded the packaging to my machine. When I expressed a desire for the pink, the RT at Apria, believe it or not, said she'd get me one. Since my insurance required a three month rental first, she simply ordered a pink one and swapped them out a few weeks later, transferring the rental to the brand-spanking new machine.

I agree that its an unusual shade of pink, almost lavender, but hardly vomit-inducing.

I'm glad that's cleared up, I thought it might run on "D" batteries instead of a/c.

No one has mentioned this yet:

To the best of my knowledge the "For Her" only comes as an AutoSet.

So insisting on getting that pretty pinkish-lavender machine to match the exquisitely decorated bedroom is one way to avoid getting stuck with a brick.

robysue, you are right -- only the Autoset comes in pink. I bought the "For Her" set because at the time it was a few dollars cheaper than buying the machine and humidifier separately on cpap.com. (BTW A friend saw it in my room and thought it was lavender.) I had to give up the pinkness when I switched to bilevel.

It's definitely one of those colors that can be argued... Is it pink or is it purple?
