Swift FX Nano

Post by KimberlyM » Sun Jul 21, 2013 7:56 pm

Does anyone know when the Swift FX Nano will be available in the United States? For those who have tried it, what do you think? Thanks!

No word on ETA for the Nano in the US yet.
I suspect that when that time gets close cpap.com will be sending out emails about it just like they do with any new mask.
When I asked about it a while back the answer was "we have no idea".

This is similar to what happened with the Swift FX...it was available in Europe probably 6 months before it was ever available here.

I haven't used it..so can't comment.

It looks so much like the Wisp. Unfortunately, the Wisp didn't work for me... very uncomfortable.

It's been available in Canada for about 6-8 weeks, so hopefully it will soon be available in the US.

I will picking one up at the end of this month to try.

It didn't work for me either. I tried mine on for about 15 minutes and the leaking was infuriating--made me love my Pilairo that much more. If anyone wants mine (Wisp fit pack (cloth)), they can have it for $40 plus postage by PMing me.

Edited by Loreena: It's sold!, baby.

Got an FX Nano in Canada in June, just a few days after it became available. I'm a brand new user, as I bought a Resmed S9 Autoset at the same time. So, first mask, and first time CPAP user. For me, the Nano works great. A bit of learning to loosen the straps until it started to leak, and then tighten just enough so that the mask floated on the face, and was not jammed into the face. It's small and light, and when adjusted properly, leaks minimally, and is comfortable to wear. After going through nights where it was too loose, and other sessions where it was too tight, and your face feels sore in the morning, and the strap marks are indented onto the face, I think I know what to do now, to adjust it so it is snug, and the flexible seals are not fully compressed. I like the Nano, and get good sleep with it.

I think the Nano comes with the skinny covers for the side cheek straps..not much padding. So if you are using those covers and still getting strap marks you might try some denser covers. That's what I did with my Swift FX (and I think the side straps are the same with both the FX and the Nano) and it helped a lot. I found the skinny covers provided by Resmed pretty much useless.

Padacheek (Karen) makes some great fleece covers that offer comfort and pretty much erase the strap marks.

If you are handy with the needle you can make something very similar with a little bit of soft fleece.

As much as I like the Wisp, I really want to try the Nano.

Where are you? US?

I have been waiting for this mask too -- looks less cumbersome than the wisp, and I'm just not doing good with my Swift FX.

Nano users: How high up on your nose does the Nano sit? All the way up to the "bridge" almost even with your lower eye lids like most nasal masks? Or much lower down (where it just might work for me)? I got a severe red sore on the bridge of my nose using the ResMed Mirage FX nasal mask and my doc told me to stop using it, a big disappointment because it gave me the best seal I ever had. Thanks. (I've been using the Swift FX for a year now and my average leak is near 20.)

Got the Nano in last week and love it. Just bought the nose piece and attached it to the old Swift fx nasal pillows head strap the same way the nasal pillows attach. If you like the pillows you can switch back and forth and use the Nano piece when ever your stuffed up or your nostrils are too sore. I love it, so far. Nose piece goes up half way on the bridge of your nose, (depends on the size of your nose ) but there is 0, zilch, nada, pressure on the bridge of your nose, only the light weight plastic touches as the straps for the fx come across your face. A little bit more obstructive for sight, if your reading or watching tv, but barely any difference. Very pleased so far, sleeping better, no more leakage than with pillows which for me is little if any. Price $57 for the nose piece in Ontario.
