Tonsillectomy reduced my pressures some

Post by Suddenly Worn Out » Tue Jul 02, 2013 7:44 pm

I can check in now and conclusively say this: the tonsillectomy I had this past April did reduce my pressures. My 95th percentile for the thirty day period before the tonsillectomy was 14.6. About a week after my tonsillectomy recovery and I was off all prescription narcotic painkiller meds, I switched my machine over to wide open, 4-20 for two months. I did thirty day downloads recently, several months after the tonsillectomy. And my 95th percentile is now 12, oftentimes dropping into the mid to high 11s.

So, while the tonsillectomy did not get rid of my OSA, it did seem to help it about two points!

Also, it has shut down the respiratory infection "cycling" I was having before the tonsillectomy. Constant sore throats and constantly getting sick with fevers and so on.

I also have not had a nasty "pus sac" on the back of my throat since the surgery!!!! No more "tonsil stones!" No more coughing up small chunks of pus...gross I know.

Now the next thing is getting my sinuses fixed...they were screwed up long before I was ever put on CPAP.

Eric
