I would not sleep without my CPAP!!!

Post by SusieG » Mon Jun 24, 2013 4:45 pm

I have been using CPAP for 6 months now (with great success) and for the first time last night the power went out in our area and I thought to myself... "I can do this, how hard can it be?!"
Guess what? Did not sleep for more than a couple of minutes at a time until the power was back on! My next purchase will be a battery back-up for my machine! Love my CPAP!!!

::giggle:: Been there, done that. I consider my machine to be my teddy bear that I need to sleep with.

I feel like I am suffocating without mine if I even lay down.

A marine deep-cycle battery and the proper adapter for the S9 are definitely useful. You'll be glad you invested in these.

I joined the "I would not sleep without my CPAP!!!" club only a few days after I started this therapy and have never looked back! Fortunately, where I live there are not many power outages so I have not had to ever try out a night of sleep (even a partial) without it .

One time a cop pulled me over for running a stop sign. He said, "Didn't you see the stop sign?" I said, "Yeah, but I don't believe everything I read." -- Steven Wright

I had a procedure done at the hospital and was told I could bring my machine. I didn't think I would need it because I wasn't going to be out that long. As soon as I woke up I had to get up because I couldn't breathe lying down. I won't do that again.

Ah yes. I'm a card carrying member too. I must have taken my mask off the other night without realizing. When I woke up I felt like death. A good reminder of how effective the treatment is. I think it's easy to forget.
