One cup of coffee

Post by pootsie » Fri Jun 14, 2013 9:22 am

Bob Marley had a song with that title. Good song.

It is also what I am down to these days. I used to be two cups before I could do a darn thing. Now I have one cup, when I feel like it, because I enjoy it.

HOORAY for effective CPAP therapy and for you people who have helped me make it effective!

Several months ago, I joined the coffee club at work ($1 for 2 weeks). At first, I had 2 cups in the morning, then it went down to 1.
I retired Wednesday, and this is my second day with NO coffee. If I have to make it myself, I think I'll just have water.
BTW, the retirement party was a blast, and touching. I will miss everyone there.

CONGRATULATIONS, FROGGY

I hope retirement is all of the nothing at all that you dream it can be.

Congratulations at having made it so far!

I do 2 cups a day - down from 4 pre -cpap.
Get one of those machines that uses K-cups, though I think the coffee is over priced and creates too much waste. You could get an espresso machine and take the time to make really good coffee - a great retirement hobby.

Retail from $2.99-$4.99. Makes better coffee, allows for fresher beans, does it for far less money, creates less waste, and gives a satisfying experience of coffee creation.

K-cups are a solution in search of a problem, needless gadgetizing of the simple. I eschew such tomfoolery! (And yeah, I am snobby about my joe )

I'm down from about four cups of coffee a day to about one cup (or one cup of black tea), mostly before 9am. I've found that once you get your coffee consumption way down, just one cup has about the same effect that three or four cups used to deliver.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Coffee at $124/lb! Good lord! And that's for stuff packed, shipped and stored across country.

$16/lb for locally-roasted goodness, that's the ticket!

Absolutely but for some people it makes sense. In a work environment it was great, no more disagreements about the strength of the coffee.

I grind my own beans, dark roast. My oldest daughter however seems in capable of making a decent cup of coffee no mater what so the K-cups work for her.

The second cup and all subsequent cups of coffee are never as good as the first, so the secret, or trick, is to get a large coffee cup.

Congratulations on retiring...I retired in October last year and have been enjoying choosing what to do with my time, getting more exercise, and generally doing what I want. Much easier to manage stress. And I do miss a few people *smile*, but not the prima donnas, or the people that hoarded information, or found other ways of making my job harder. Not much team spirit there, mostly individual survival, which I do understand.

Anyways, I think that you'll enjoy retirement, too *smile*.

Oh yeah, two cups of coffee a day, one after breakfast, one after lunch...try not to be drinking coffee late in the day, but I really do like it *smile*.
