Resmed S8 Cpap power issues in USA?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone else had this issue. I have a Resmed S8 CPAP and has worked well for me over the years. However, recently, I have had to start traveling for work. I live in Australia but have had to be in the US on occasion. Now I always travel with my CPAP, but it has started acting up.

When I try to switch it on, it displays an asterisk on the display "*", and will not start. It keeps trying to start, but it doesn't. Its almost as if you can hear it trying to start up but then stops short of pumping air out. The first time I noticed this, I thought it was dead for sure, so I took it back home. But low and behold, it started ok at home. On my next trip, the same thing happened. Its weird, but my CPAP now does NOT work in the US, but works at home. The same thing happened in South Korea and China. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I know its a bit unusual, but I was hoping someone had experienced something similar and knew what it was.

Taking it for repairs is such a hassle for me with work, and they always try and rip you off. Especially in Australia. So if anyone has any clues that could help. It would be very much appreciated.
